YogaTherapies Introducing

  • YogaTherapies ltd Yoga x Life, Portland Road Newcastle upon Tyne, England, NE2 1DW United Kingdom (map)

YogaTherapies introducing offers space for our amazing Yomala Graduates to showcase their teachings to the real world (you!). With our 21/22 cohort now complete we are excited to introduce them all to you…

All our Introducing classes are free to book, there will be an opportunity for you to leave cash donations for the teacher at the end of the session and they keep 100% of them with the tiny caveat that the funds must be used to help fund or further the next stage on their yoga teaching journey.

The Yomala teacher trainings not only explore what it is to live as a Yogi, but also, to really understand what it is to teach. The course is heavily practical, full of teaching opportunities, problem solving, assisting and lots of deep and gritty debate where we really tease apart what matters in a practice, what people want to convey in a practice, and what it that they need to tap into in order to become that authentic and passionate expression. A word we use lots is ‘rasa’ - in fact it’s no joke to say a large portion of our graduates literally have it tattooed on them! - and broadly the word rasa can be understood as meaning essence. When we teach sequencing rasa is at the core, we want our students to know why the pose is there and what it’s there for is this side angle a side bend… is it a hip heater or in fact, is it there as a really tangible reminder of what it is to ground your feet. Whilst there is plenty of anatomy involved too, exploring postures as a framework for a potential experience in a student leaves no option but for graduates to tap into what it is their body is telling them and to teach in a way that celebrates their soul…their essence!
