Movement as Medicine, April - August 2023

  • Yoga x Life Studio Yoga x Life, Portland Road Newcastle upon Tyne, England, NE2 1DW United Kingdom (map)

In this 50 hour practical exploration we will develop an understanding of how movement practices can be used to restore, maintain and expand the health and harmony of the body and its energies.

Sessions will focus around key aspects of movement and look to understand both the form and function of the postures that are familiar to us, and many that are not. Practices will include a mixture of individual somatic practice, partner yoga and work with techniques inspired by Thai Yoga Massage to gain a multi-faceted understanding of the workings of therapeutic movement.

There will be ample opportunity within each session for students to present their own challenges and curiosities for exploration making this perfect for students wanting to better understand themselves and their practice in order to build an approach for longevity as well as teachers and therapists of all kinds looking to understand the central role of the body in total wellbeing.

Attendees seeking certification will be required to complete one case study for submission.
